2. Scope

This Policy applies to TwitViewer’s website and viewer. It does not govern X, linked websites, embedded content providers, advertisers, analytics providers, or other third parties. Those organizations process data under their own notices.

3. Data We May Process

Information you submit

When you use the viewer, we may process the username, profile URL, post URL, or other query you enter. A submitted URL may itself contain identifiers or public account information. Do not submit private credentials, authentication tokens, or information you are not permitted to use. If you contact us, we may process your name, email address, message, attachments, and any information needed to respond. Rights or abuse reports may require identity, authority, and supporting evidence.

Technical and usage data

Our servers and security providers may process IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type, operating system, referring URL, requested pages, timestamps, language, diagnostic events, and security signals. This information is commonly needed to deliver pages, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and maintain availability. Using TwitViewer without signing in to X does not make a visit absolutely anonymous.

Cookies and similar technologies

TwitViewer uses browser LocalStorage for optional post, profile and thread bookmarks, recent viewing history, reader settings, reading progress, and the history preference. These records remain on the current device, are not synchronized to a TwitViewer account, and are not sent to our backend as part of the bookmark, history or reader-progress feature. You can remove individual bookmarks, clear history, clear all locally saved data, or disable future viewing history from the Saved page. Disabling history also stops automatic reader-progress storage, but does not remove explicit bookmarks or reader settings. TwitViewer also loads Google Analytics to measure website usage and ShareThis to provide social-sharing controls. These providers may process technical information and use cookies or similar technologies under their own privacy notices.

Local bookmarks and history

Local bookmarks contain lightweight snapshots such as a public post, profile or thread identifier, display name, handle, short text, avatar URL, local TwitViewer URL, and save time. History stores up to 50 recently opened public profiles, posts, and searches; reader progress is limited to the 50 most recent threads. Bookmarks store up to 200 lightweight snapshots in total. TwitViewer does not archive full thread text or media in LocalStorage. Clearing browser site data can also remove these records. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to see them.

Public third-party content

To answer a request, TwitViewer may process identifiers and publicly available information associated with the submitted X profile or post. The people represented in that public content may not be the person using TwitViewer. Such data must not be used to infer sensitive traits, facilitate surveillance, or build unlawful profiles.

Search suggestions

When a public profile returns a result, TwitViewer may retain its validated public handle, display name, and avatar URL in a shared suggestion index. This index is used to suggest previously opened public profiles to visitors who type similar characters. It is not associated with a TwitViewer account or stored together with an IP address, and it excludes invalid handles, credentials, and private visitor information.

4. Purposes and Legal Bases

Depending on your location and the specific processing, we may process data to provide the requested service and take steps at your request; operate, secure, and improve the website based on our legitimate interests; comply with legal obligations; establish or defend legal claims; and use non-essential cookies or send optional communications with consent. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against the rights and expectations of affected individuals.

5. How Public Links Are Processed

When you submit a supported public handle or URL, TwitViewer may transmit a request to infrastructure or service providers needed to retrieve or render the result. If official X embeds or widgets are used, X may receive technical information about the visit and may use it according to its own terms and privacy notice. Where legally required, such third-party content should remain blocked until the user provides consent.

6. Sharing and Processors

We may share data with hosting, content-delivery, security, error-monitoring, analytics, consent-management, email, and professional service providers acting under appropriate terms. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, in connection with a corporate transaction, or with your direction or consent. We do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising unless clearly disclosed and accompanied by legally required choices. If advertising is enabled, revise this statement and implement applicable opt-out mechanisms.

7. International Transfers

Providers may process data outside your country. Where required, we use an approved transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, or another lawful safeguard. Contact us for information about applicable safeguards.

8. Retention

We retain personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for the stated purpose, security, legal compliance, and dispute resolution. Public profile handles accepted into the shared suggestion index may remain until they are superseded, become invalid, or are removed during maintenance. Temporary public-content caches expire according to the cache policy in effect for that content type. Web and security logs, support correspondence, legal records, consent records, and backups are retained only for the operational or legal period applicable to them and are then deleted or overwritten.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect data, such as access controls, encryption in transit, dependency updates, rate limiting, logging, and vendor review as appropriate. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Do not submit passwords or confidential data through the viewer.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal data; withdraw consent; opt out of certain sharing, sale, profiling, or targeted advertising; and complain to a supervisory authority. 11. Public Content and Removal Requests

TwitViewer does not control the original material on X. Removing a result from TwitViewer does not remove it from X, search engines, archives, or other services. For concerns about the source post, contact the source platform or author. For a TwitViewer-specific concern, email admin@twitviewer.net with the URLs and supporting explanation. We may preserve limited records needed to prevent repeated abuse or comply with law.

12. Children

TwitViewer is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where local law requires. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through account registration. If you believe a child has provided personal data directly to us, contact admin@twitviewer.net. Public third-party posts may concern minors; users must handle such material with particular care.

13. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Browser signals are not interpreted uniformly. If TwitViewer engages in processing subject to an opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control, we will honor a legally valid signal as required.

14. Changes

We may update this Policy to reflect operational, legal, or technical changes. We will post the revised version and update the effective date. Material changes may be highlighted through an additional notice where appropriate.
